The dudes over at SOUL BMX are dropping a DVD in an upcoming issue of their magazine, I was surprised that it actually looks to be something worth checking out. SOUL BMX may be pretty deece but when are DVDs that drop in mags ever really that good? Rare, I would say. If you skip the flatland section in the DVD, it should be pretty worth finding yourself an issue of the NEW SOUL mag...

Tammy's been on a filming rampage as of late, dude always has his camera out and he slams out edits like he's making Kosman G's. But in all reality he's making Tammy dollars and change, which is like negative 3 dollars. I think the best thing about Tammy having a camera is he's always filming the dudes I want to see shreddin, which of course all reign from the greater San Diego region.

I'm real stoked to see Tammy back on the bike, seems that he still has all the moves on lockdown... The dude just can't lose his shred keys!

So, turns out that the famous Brooklyn Banks spot may be scheduled for some down time during some extensive repairs and replacing of an off ramp. The banks will act as a staging area for the construction equipment and supplies starting in 2010 through the years to 2014. A skater by the name of Steve Rodriguez saved the day in 2004 but will he be able to save this spot again?

I read about this all and came up with my own reaction to the news... It may surprise you but I personally don't care about the Brooklyn Banks nor its history as a riding/skating spot. I mean sure I can sympathize with the thought of it all, the banks becoming a staging area for the equipment and possibly being shut down and all that. I along with others have gone through the same situation but for a skatepark, O'side skatepark to be exact. It wasn't famous like the Brooklyn Banks but it was our hotspot and it was torn down and turned into a staging area for the construction of a beachfront condominium. The only thing left now of that skatepark is an empty fenced off lot, with overgrown weeds and trees... The skatepark may be gone but the surrounding area is actually looking nice and less like a scummy shithole, now to rid the place of all the jarheads...

So what's the big deal if some banks and 1 foot tall ledges get torn out? Are all the NY street nibblers gonna be pissin and shittin their tall tees because they have nowhere to meet up and smoke weed? Where will the druggies and hookers go at night now that the banks will no longer be a nesting ground for the spread of disease and drug use? I say tear it down, maybe it will make the area less of a shithole? Maybe they'll build a new set up? I can guarantee the bridge gets more use than that shitty bank spot and I'm sure the community would appreciate some upgrades in what looks to be a real ghetto area of NYC. No, I've never ridden the banks, no I don't care about the history of the spot or its future as a spot. There's plenty of bank spots, 1 foot tall ledges and places to smoke weed and rot.

So I know what you're thinking, new Dave Young footage??! NOPE. I fuckin wish but sometimes you just gotta take what you can get. I was surfin the net and the waves weren't hittin all too hard, basically surfin whitewash while paddling my way through the days BMX media garbage. I gave up on lookin for something worth bloggin about, so I figured I would head on over to Youtube to basically get lost in a random video frenzy for some time and pass out...

I decided to search Nowhere Fast and Dave Young like I periodically do throughout the year and for fucking once in my life, something finally showed up in the search that wasn't a Smiths song called "Nowhere Fast" or some other stupid shit. Somebody finally uploaded Dave Young's section from Nowhere Fast and it looks like they're Spanish due to the video's description. The song police already went after it though, the Slayer soundtrack along with the shred audio and Dave's profanity have all been lost to cyberspace. And it's only been up for a month too, what a pity...

I can speak for countless amounts of people when I say that I've been waiting for this upload OR better yet a DVD version for years, upon years, upon millenium... Even though the Slayer and profanity are missing, I can still enjoy it. This is a small step in the right direction... When will Nowhere Fast make it to DVD!!?
