I met Jourdan earlier this year, upon meeting him I found out how kickass he was and that he was a shredder with a little buffalo in him. Jourdan is a real relaxed, chill dude, he shreds like an ape all while keeping a smooth buffalo-like composure. I know you're wondering what that exactly means but I guess you need to hang with him in person and witness his shred abilities to really understand... You see buffalos usually just chill and graze in their natural habitats, if provoked they begin stampeding and in Jourdan's case stampeding equals out to shredding! How long have you been shreddin'?

I started racing when I was 5 and got into freestyle when I was around 8 years old.

What got you into riding?

My older brothers, I've always looked up to them.

Favorite terrain to shred? What are some of your favorite spots?

I really love street but trails and park are always a blast. My favorite spots would be any kind of rail setup, ledges with angle iron or any type of unique obstacles.

Are there any moves you just can't seem to dial in? What moves do you have in the works right now?

Umm... Flairs are next to impossible for me, lol, I can't figure those out. As far as working on tricks, I just go with the flow and learn things here and there, nothing serious.

Shreddin' with your iPod or talkin' shit with the homies?

Talking shit with all the homies but iPods always come in handy for solo rides.

What influences you on and off the bike?

People that can't do the things that we take for granted every day.

Name 3 trends or things you hate about BMX:

-Everyone hating on each other.

-Kids that just get into bmx and try to do all the big tricks before they can even do the basics.

-Kids that ride just to get sponsored and forget that we all got into BMX becuase it's FUN!

You've been on that Snafu hook up for a while now, how's McGoo treating you? When are you going to be on Snafu pro?

McGoo treats me good, he always helps me out as much as he can. As far as being on pro, I don't know but I'm not stressing it as long as my bike is decent enough to ride, I'm happy.

So what's an ape of a shredder like you doing without a frame hook up?

I don't know everything happens for a reason, it would be rad to not have to buy frames though.

Your forced to make a choice, either take off all your pegs or put on front and back brakes. What do you choose?

I'd go with the brakes, I don't think I could survive in the streets without pegs...

Is there a particular nickname you have pertaining to the word "buffalo"? Why were you given this nickname?

Haha thats funny, I don't know how it all started but my buddy Lloyd called me Buffalo Kid one day and it kinda stuck with me.

Have you ever considered the fact that your facial structure is that of a pitbull or bull terrier? Would you say you agree or disagree?

I've never thought of myself that way but I don't disagree, I've taken a few face plants in my day, so I know I ain't handsome, haha.

Do you go to school or have a job?

I'm to lazy for school but I work full time on stock crew at Stater Bros.

What's an ideal day for Jourdan Barba?

Wake up around 3 PM, eat Chipotle and shred the streets or parks with friends.
