I've been riding the Gsport Ratchet guard for a couple of months now and I can honestly say its the best thing thats ever happened to me and my grinds. This thing takes loads of abuse and can hang with any sessionin' I throw at it, coping, ledges, rails, fire, brick, wood... Its all good on this thing! It keeps my prized Ratchet hub out of harms way and my spokes don't bend or break off anymore either, did I even mention how good lookin' it is?
This thing is machined out to minimize the weight but still retains maximum strength where other guards tend to fail. I'm not taking the grinder to this thing after every few sessions to smooth out the grind damage or nothing, anyone who runs a hubguard knows what that's about. You keep your back turned for too long and your shitty guard turns into an even shittier enemy and starts wearing way inward and chewing away at your spokes! I ran a Mutiny V2 guard for a while and it worked with my Ratchet hub but I had to customize the shit out of it from the very beginning to fit my frame and I constantly had to maintain the guard with the grinder and change out spokes....
I haven't had to maintain this thing once yet with the grinder and being that grinds are a staple part of my shred diet, you best believe I've been puttin in some work on this thing!
I would recommend this for those of you who own Ratchet hubs and enjoy grinds as much as I do, it's well worth the price because it saves your precious hub, spokes and time in the end. Besides, if Steven Seagal can't destroy it, who really can?
